Meltem Pension

A popular choice among budget travelers, the Meltem Pension features 14 rooms that are quite basic by almost anyone’s definition, but they are typical of the cheaper accommodation of the area and a perfect fit for many travelers. The best feature of the Meltem Pension is the rooftop lounge which serves as Reception as well as the breakfast area. The view over Kas is fantastic, making it a perfect place to relax after a busy day outdoors.

This 2-star pension is well suited to backpackers and other travelers who are in town for diving, paragliding, hiking, or other activities. Their booking desk will make all the arrangements for you, including door to door pickup and drop-off. It’s a short walk into the historic city center and there are many restaurants, cafes, and bars within a few minutes’ stroll.

What the reviews say

Reviews of the Meltem Pension are generally very positive, with most being extremely happy with the owners and others on the staff. The location and view get very high marks from most guests as well. Rooms are admittedly very basic and this seems to be a disappointment to some who think they’ve booked into a more upscale hotel rather than a budget pension.

At least a couple of reviews mention that there are still some squat toilets instead of Western-style toilets in a few rooms, but overall it seems they are able to assign nearly all guests into what they are comfortable with.
